NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 1/4/2010 - of the No. 1 ranked Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University Lady Bulldogs has been named the TranSouth Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 3, 2010.
Dudley, a 5-foot-10 senior guard from Bradford, Tenn., helped Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a 2-0 week. In the two wins during the Daytona Beach Shootout, Dudley averaged 16 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals per game. She posted 43 percent shooting from the field, 38 percent (6-16) from behind the arc and 50 percent (2-4) from the free throw line in the two games. Dudley scored 14 points while posting four rebounds and four assists in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 95-73 win over No. 18 Wayland Baptist (Texas). Her best game was an 18-point performance in the 76-57 win over Brenau (Ga.).
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is 13-1 on the season and has been ranked No. 1 in the NAIA for 28 straight rankings. The next ranking will be released on January 11. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will play next on Thursday, January 7 at home versus Bethel (Tenn.) in the first TranSouth game of the season. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will put their 50-game home winning streak on the line as they work toward a fourth straight TranSouth title.
