No. 11 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men cruise to seventh win of season

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/1/2009 - The No. 11 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs posted a 75-53 win over Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) College on Tuesday at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Fred DeLay Gymnasium. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improved to 7-3 on the season, while Hannibal-LaGrange dropped to 4-6 overall.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by the TranSouth men’s basketball Player of the Week, Greg Truvillion, with 16 points and 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 36-18 at the half after leading by as many as 19 points in the opening half. The Bulldogs pushed their lead to as many as 24 points on two occasions in the second half, the last coming 75-51.

In addition to Truvillion’s double-double, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was paced by Stan McNeil with 12 points, while Martez Hawkins and Antoine Joseph scored 10 points each. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ shot 44 percent from the field, 21 percent (4-19) from behind the arc and 83 percent (19-23) from the free throw line.

Hannibal-LaGrange was led by Cody Stoneburner with 11 points and Brian Gilbert with 10 points. The Trojans shot 41 percent from the field, 25 percent (2-8) from three point range and 70 percent (7-10) from behind the arc.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be an opportunity to avenge an earlier road loss when Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ host Belhaven (Miss.) College on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Belhaven rallied from 14 points down in the second half to top Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 75-72 earlier this season.
