No. 11 麻豆视频 holds off No. 23 Life 107-95

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/28/2009 - The No. 11 ranked 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 basketball team posted a 107-95 win over No. 23 Life (Ga.) University in the final game of the 麻豆视频 Thanksgiving Classic. 麻豆视频 improved to 6-3 on the season, while Life dropped to 6-3 overall.

In the first half, 麻豆视频 trailed 11-8 at the 17 minute mark. 麻豆视频 then scored 10 straight points to start a 31-9 run that pushed their lead to 39-20 with 8:23 left in the first half. 麻豆视频 led by as many as 20 points in the first half (55-35), before going into the half with a 57-41 lead.

麻豆视频鈥檚 first half shooting was key in their 57 points as the Bulldog posted 77 percent shooting from the field, including 71 percent (5-7) from behind the arc. 麻豆视频鈥檚 Stan McNeal was four-of-four from behind the arc in the opening half on his way to 16 first half points.

In the second half, 麻豆视频 pushed their lead to as many as 26 points, but had to hold off a wild rally by Life. After 麻豆视频 held a 70-44 lead at the 16:20 mark of the second half, Life began to cut into the lead.

With 11:44 left in the game, 麻豆视频 still led by 21, 75-54. However, Life posted an 11-0 run to cut the deficit down to 10 points, 75-65 with 8:17 left.

麻豆视频 answered the run to push the lead back to 12 points, but the Eagles kept coming. With 4:41 left, Life got a three pointer from Ken Moore to cut the lead down to just seven points, 83-76.

麻豆视频 used two free throws from Greg Truvillion and a layup from Keith Tolliver to put the lead back in double figures. 麻豆视频 stretched the lead back to as many as 14 points with just over a minute left before taking the 107-95 win.

麻豆视频 was led by Truvillion with a 24 points and 10 rebounds, both game highs. Keith Tolliver scored 25 points, 15 coming in the second half. McNeil finished with 16 points, all in the first half, while Roland Banhoro added 10 points and nine rebounds. 麻豆视频 shot 62 percent from the field, 43 percent (6-14) from three point range and 81 percent (43-53) from the free throw line in the game.

Life also boasted five players in double figures led by James Hooper with 22 points. Tay Barber and Greg Brown scored 12 points each, while Ken Moore and Bryant Dunn added 11 points each. The Eagles shot 42 percent from the field, 47 percent (9-19) from behind the arc and 77 percent (20-26) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a home game on Tuesday, December 1 when the Bulldogs host Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) at 7:00 p.m.
