Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s three individual qualifiers compete in NAIA cross country nationals

VANCOUVER, Wash. - 11/21/2009 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University cross country teams qualified three runners in the . Alex Bett posted a 38th place finish, while Zach Covington earned a 180th finish in the men’s race. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Hanna Clardy finished 183rd in the women’s race.

Bett’s 38th place finish was just eight spots away from earning an All-American spot (top 30 runners).

The men’s race featured 323 runners, while the women’s race had 330 runners.

Prior to this season, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s women had been to three straight national championships as a team, while the men had a streak of two straight team appearances. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has now had seven women’s individual qualifiers and 11 men’s individual qualifiers.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s best individual finish was a fifth place finish by Henry Rop in 2007 when the men’s team finish eighth place. The best women’s team finish was 25th place in 2006 and individually in 2007 when Sylvia Bundotich finished 13th overall.
