No. 11 麻豆视频 edges No. 5 McKendree 66-64

LEBANON, Ill. - 11/14/2009 - The No. 11 ranked 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 basketball team posted a 66-64 road win at No. 5 McKendree (Ill.) University on Saturday night. For 麻豆视频, this marked the third straight season that 麻豆视频 has won at McKendree. The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 on the season, while McKendree dropped to 5-1 on the year.

麻豆视频鈥檚 senior All-American Greg Truvillion, who posted his second straight double-double, hit the game winning three-pointer with four seconds left to give 麻豆视频 the victory.

麻豆视频 led by five points, 63-58 with 50 seconds left in the game. But a three pointer by McKendree鈥檚 Eric Hobbie, followed by a 麻豆视频 turnover and a three-point-play, put the home team up by one point with 31 seconds left. 麻豆视频 worked the clock down and when it looked as if the Bulldogs would not get a shot off, Truvillion drained his first three pointer of the season for the win.

McKendree led by as many as nine points with 15 minutes left in the game after the teams played to a 29-29 halftime tie. However, 麻豆视频 slowly chipped away and posted their biggest lead of five points on two occasions in the final four minutes.

The game featured six ties and 11 lead changes, which as becoming a regular occurrence when these two teams meet. Last season, 麻豆视频 and McKendree split the season series 1-1 with 麻豆视频 winning 83-80 in overtime at McKendree, while McKendree topped 麻豆视频 66-65 at 麻豆视频. These two teams will meet for a rematch in two weeks in the 麻豆视频 Thanksgiving Classic.

麻豆视频 was led by Truvillion with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Tacuma Alexander was the only other Bulldog in double figures with 12 points. After dismal first half shooting numbers, 麻豆视频 made 62 percent of their shots in the second half, including 75 percent (3-4) of their three pointers. For the game, 麻豆视频 shot 46 percent from the field, 42 percent (5-12) from behind the arc and 77 percent (17-22) from the free throw line.

McKendree was led by Eric Hobbie with 17 points. Sean Rakers added 16 points and John Steppe scored 10 points. The Bearcats shot 53 percent from the field, 33 percent (4-12) from behind the arc and 50 percent (6-12) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be another matchup with a team that is receiving votes in the NAIA preseason ranking as 麻豆视频 hosts Campbellsville (Ky.) on Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m.
