NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 11/10/2009 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University volleyball put five players on the TranSouth All-Conference honors that were announced at the 2009 TranSouth Volleyball Tournament. Marcela Madeira, Katie Adams and Heather Lieberman were named first team all-conference performers, while Anna Sims and Kelsey Duling earned second team honors.
, a 5-foot-10 junior from Brazil, leads Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 418 kills and a .312 hitting percentage. She also currently has 25 aces, 447 digs and 49 blocks.
, a 5-foot-8 senior from Orange, Calif., is Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s lone senior, leading the way with 1,353 assists. She has also accumulated a team-high 43 aces and has 293 digs. This is the second straight season for Adams to be named to the all-conference team.
, a 5-foot-8 junior from Rochester, N.Y., has 417 kills and a .244 hitting percentage. She has 38 aces and 418 digs. This is Lieberman’s first all-conference honor at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, but was named to the 2008 TranSouth all-tournament team.
, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Trussville, Ala., has 285 kills and a .290 hitting percentage. She has a team high 157 blocks. This also marks the second straight all-conference honor for Sims.
, a 5-foot-7 junior from Pasadena, Calif., is makes an appearance on the all-conference team in her first season with the Lady Bulldogs. Duling had 354 kills and a .202 hitting percentage. She has also accumulated 33 aces, a team high 454 digs and 31 blocks.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also boasted five players that earned TranSouth Scholar Athlete honors. Duling, Lieberman, Sims along with and each made the list.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is currently playing in the TranSouth Conference Tournament as a No. 4 seed. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ entered the tournament with a 26-8 record overall and a 9-5 league record.
