JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/9/2009 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University men’s golf team finished the fall season with high team and individual rankings. the scoring website that provides computer rankings for golf at the NCAA and NAIA levels has Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ as the No. 3 ranked team in the NAIA in team scoring in relation to par.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s team is also ranked by Golfstat as the No. 19 ranked team in the NAIA and first in the TranSouth in head-to-head competition with a 143-21 record. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 2 in the NAIA in par 4 scoring (4.11).
Clay Mallard, a senior Milan native, is ranked No. 10 in score in relation to par with a 71.88 average. Ryan Chandler, a junior from Kenton, Tenn., is ranked No. 25 in the NAIA in score in relation to par. Chandler (3.98) is also ranked No. 2 in the NAIA in par 4 scoring, while Mallard (4.02) is No. 4 in par 4 scoring.
Over the fall, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ posted one first place finish and two second place finishes in NAIA events. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also posted a strong showing in the two NCAA events in which they participated. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ placed third of 13 teams in the Murray State Invitational and then posted a sixth place finish out of 16 teams in the University of Tennessee-Martin Invitational ().
