PULASKI, Tenn. - 10/20/2009 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women’s soccer team fell 4-0 at NAIA No. 6 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dropped to 6-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the TranSouth. Martin Methodist improved to 10-2-2 on the season and a league best 4-0-1 record.
Martin Methodist jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half. Their first goal came from Daniel Sofer in the fifth minute of play. In the twenty-second minute, Shannon Walter made the score 2-0 with a header. Then, in the final minute before halftime, Laura Graham scored on a rebound to set the RedHawk halftime lead to 3-0. A goal by Nicole O’Donnell in the eighty-first minute set the final at 4-0. Mor Efraim, O’Donnell and Sofer each record one assist in the match.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was outshot by Martin Methodist 18-4, with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ not recording a shot on goal. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Laura Pla recorded seven saves in the match, with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also recorded a team save.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a make-up match with Bethel (Tenn.) University on Thursday, October 22 at 5:00 p.m. at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
