麻豆视频 men鈥檚 golf team places second, Mallard medalist in MMC Invitational

Clay Mallard earns first place

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. - 10/20/2009 - The 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 golf team posted a second place finish in the Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College Invitational. After leading the event following the first round on Monday, 麻豆视频 fell to second place by just two strokes with Tuesday鈥檚 final round. Cumberland (Tenn.) University earned the win.

麻豆视频鈥檚 Clay Mallard, a former Milan High School standout and senior for this year鈥檚 golf team, was the medalist for the event. Mallard posted two rounds of 68 to claim first place.

In addition to Mallard鈥檚 68-68, Brett Barry shot 68-75, Ryan Chandler shot 73-72, Ben Waits shot 72-75 and Mill Hamaguchi shot 74-74 to round out 麻豆视频鈥檚 team.

Cumberland shot a two-day total of 568 to win first place. 麻豆视频 was second with a score of 570, while Martin Methodist shot a 589.

麻豆视频 golf completes their fall schedule and will now look to the spring season with the goal of winning a conference title and advancing to the NAIA National Tournament. 麻豆视频 last won the TranSouth Tournament in the spring of 2008. 麻豆视频 has won 10 conference golf titles, include TranSouth and Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conferences.

One important event remains this fall for the 麻豆视频 golf team as they are co-hosting a with the 麻豆视频 baseball team on Oct. 31.
