麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer drops match to 麻豆视频 (Ky.)

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/29/2009 - The 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 soccer team lost to 麻豆视频 (Ky.) College 3-2 on Tuesday night. The Lady Bulldogs of 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) dropped to 5-4-1 on the season, while the Lady Bulldogs of 麻豆视频 (Ky.) improved to 7-0. 麻豆视频 (Ky.) is receiving votes in the latest NAIA national rankings.

麻豆视频 (Tenn.) scored first with a quick goal from Candice Blackard in the second minute of play. However, 麻豆视频 (Ky.) was determined to keep their perfect season in tack. Ashley Hall of 麻豆视频 (Ky.) answered with two goals in the ninth and 28th minutes of play to give her team the 2-1 lead.

Jamie Haynes of 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) then found the back of the net in the 33rd minute of play to tie the match. But for the second and final time of the night, the lead went back in favor 麻豆视频 (Ky.) after Marcela Salum scored in the 40th minute to put her team up 3-2.

After a first half that produced five total goals, two ties and three lead changes, the second half proved to be a defensive battle. Both teams mounted 19 shots in the match, with both getting just eight shots in the second half. 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) had several late opportunities on goal that could have tied the contest, but could not score. 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) goalie Laura Pla recorded 10 saves in the match, while her counterpart from 麻豆视频 (Ky.), Patricia Nardy, tallied eight saves.

Up next for the 麻豆视频 Lady Bulldogs of Jackson will be a home match on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. versus the No. 5 ranked NAIA team, William Carey (Miss.) University.
