麻豆视频 volleyball sweeps through Millsaps Tourney, moves to 8-0 on season

JACKSON, Miss. - 9/5/2009 - The 麻豆视频 University volleyball team remained perfect on the season with four wins in the Millsaps (Miss.) College Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Friday, 麻豆视频 defeated Loyola (La.) University-New Orleans 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-23) and defeated Belhaven (Miss.) College 3-1 (25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 25-12). 麻豆视频 knocked off Millsaps 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20) and Rhodes (Tenn.) College 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-11) on Saturday. The four wins push 麻豆视频鈥檚 season record to 8-0.

In the win over Loyola-New Orleans, 麻豆视频 was led by Marcela Madeira and Kelsey Duling with 10 kills each. Katie Adams tallied 39 assists, while Heather Lieberman led with 10 digs.

Madeira exploded for 15 kills in the win over Rhodes. Anna Sims and Duling added nine kills each, while Adams recorded 40 assists.

For the second straight match, 麻豆视频鈥檚 Madeira record 15 kills in the win over Millsaps. Lieberman and Duling posted 13 and 11 kills respectively. Adams tallied 39 assists, while Duling led with 14 digs.

Lieberman stepped up in the win over Rhodes with 15 kills and 14 digs. Adams recorded 30 assists and three aces, while Sims tallied six kills and six blocks.

麻豆视频 will step back into TranSouth Conference play in their next match, Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. versus Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College at 麻豆视频.
