Jackson, Tenn. - 11/12/2002 - Â鶹ÊÓƵ's cross country teams finished well as they ran in their final meet of the season. This meet in Louisville, Kentucky would determine the TranSouth Conference finish and their NAIA Region XI finish. Both teams fell just short of making the NAIA Nation Meet for the first time as a team, however, Janelle Royer earned Â鶹ÊÓƵ's second ever national qualifier.

The Lady Bulldogs finished third in the TranSouth Conference while earning a fourth place finish in the NAIA Region XI results. Royer also earned First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors. She will go to national on Nov. 22-23 in Kenosha, Wisconsin for the NAIA Nationals. Royer, a Jackson native, is the firstÂ鶹ÊÓƵ runner to break the 20:00 minute mark in college 5K, by running a 19:47 at the regional meet. Kate Graham earned a spot on the all-conference team and second team all-region honors.

Â鶹ÊÓƵs men's team earned their second straight second place finish in the conference and a sixth place finish in the regional standings. Chris Winter was named to the TranSouth all-conference team.
