JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/12/2009 - Caroline George of Selmer, Tenn. has signed to play her college softball with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University. George will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a freshman.
George, a 5-foot-11 pitcher, prepped at McNairy Central High School where she played four seasons of softball for coach Mell Surratt. George was a three-time all-district and all-tournament selection during her career. She posted over 900 career strikeouts with 36 shutouts and five no-hitters. George was 56-20-2 overall with a 0.54 career ERA. She set a single game record with 24 strikeouts in a 13-inning game.
George also was a successful summer league softball player. She helped lead her West Tennessee All-Stars to two USSSA State titles and one USGF World Series title.
Off the field, George was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society.
George is the daughter of Terrell and Linda George of Selmer and is a member Christ United Methodist Church.
