Smith joins Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ volleyball program

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/1/2009 - Holly Smith will joing the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University volleyball program. She will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a sophomore and will major in nursing.

Smith, a 5-foot-3 defensive specialist, prepped at Asheville Christian Academy where she played two seasons of volleyball. Prior to her two years in Asheville, she attended West Henderson High School where she played volleyball and ran track, while also being a member of the swimming and diving team. In 2006 and 2007, she helped lead her volleyball team to North Carolina State Titles while serving as team captain. She was a North Carolina state runner-up in swimming for the 2004-05 season. Smith is an All-Area performer in volleyball, track, and swimming/diving and was also named All-State in swimming/diving.

In the classroom, the Ashville, N.C., native was a student council representative and a member of the FCA.

Smith is the daughter of David and Diane Smith and is a member of the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville.
