Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Jacobs passes 1,500 career points.

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/6/2009 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University senior passed the 1,500 career-point mark in her team’s 95-65 win over Bethel (Tenn.) College in the semifinal round of the TranSouth Conference Tournament. Jacobs has 1,513 points in her career at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Jacobs, a native of Bradford, Tenn. has been a part of one of the most successful eras in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women’s basketball history. Jacobs has been a part of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ for the past five seasons, taking a medical red-shirt season after her sophomore year.

During her five years, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has won two NAIA National Titles, been to four straight NAIA semifinals, and have won three TranSouth Championships. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ record during their time has been 159-19 (.893). Jacobs has already earned a degree from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and is looking forward to teaching and coach after her playing career.

Jacobs has been named and NAIA All-American, All-Conference, NAIA All-Tournament during her career. She was a part of national tournament record of 51 made three-pointers set by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in the 2005 national championship run. Jacobs also leaves Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ as the most prolific three-point-shooter in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ history with 377 made three pointers to this point in her career. Earlier this season, she passed the old record of 309 three-pointers by Anna Richardson.
