JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/5/2009 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women’s soccer team has signed to continue her soccer career for the Lady Bulldogs. Weir will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a freshman and will major in Exercise Science.
Weir, a 5-foot-6 defender, prepped at MacArthur (Texas) High School where she played was a three-sport athlete in soccer, cross country, and gymnastics. In soccer, she earned the Superlative Utility Player award, MVP, and Team Captain. She also added All-District and Defensive MVP twice, while being named Most Outstanding Player three times. She helped lead her team to the district playoffs in 2007 and 2008. Weir also played club soccer for Sting Team '91, Triumph FC '91, and Destiny '91. Off the field, Weir was a member of the National Honor Society.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Head Coach Brandon Boylan says, “Sara is a strong, solid defender who will add a lot to our program. She has had good coaching at both the high school and club levels. We are very excited that Sara has decided to join Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to continue her soccer career."
