No. 1 麻豆视频 finishes off second straight perfect TranSouth record with win in regular season finale

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/28/2009 - The No. 1 ranked 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldogs posted a 109-47 win over Mid-Continent (Ky.) University in the season finale on Saturday. With the win, 麻豆视频 locks up their second straight perfect record in TranSouth play. In the 13-year history of the TranSouth, 麻豆视频 is the only team to go undefeated in league play, doing so on three occasions (16-0 in 2009, 18-0 in 2008, and 13-0 in 1999).

The win for 麻豆视频 also marked their 39th straight home win and their 35th straight TranSouth regular season victory. 麻豆视频 has now won three straight TranSouth regular season titles and 11 of 13 in TranSouth history.

麻豆视频 jumped out to a quick 9-0 on their way to scoring 22 of the game's first 24 points. 麻豆视频 held a 34-point lead twice in the first half, including the 63-29 halftime score. Sophomore guard Laura Crittendon posted a career-high 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting from behind the arc in just the first half. She finished with 21 points in the game.

麻豆视频 opened the second half with a 10-0 run, holding Mid-Continent scoreless for almost four minutes. 麻豆视频 led by as many as 64 points in the game, 109-45, before ending the game with a 109-47 final.

麻豆视频 was led by Josephine Owino with 24 points in the game. Crittendon and Zeinab Chan each added 21 points in the game. Crittendon was 7-of-9 in the game from behind the arc. Kaitlin Dudley scored 18 points, while Merideth Jacobs scored 11 points. 麻豆视频 shot 67-percent from the field, 46-percent (11-24), and 86-percent (12-14) from the free throw line. 麻豆视频 out-rebounded Mid-Continent 44-19 in the game.

Mid-Continent was led by Kandi Knupp with 14 points and April Carth with 13 points. Mid-Continent shot 30-percent from the field, 29-percent (4-14) from behind the arc, and 79-percent (11-14) from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be in the quarterfinal round of the TranSouth Conference Tournament on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 pm. 麻豆视频, the No. 1 seed, will play the winner of Blue Mountain (Miss.) and Mid-Continent (Ky.).
