No. 1 麻豆视频 tops No. 3 Lambuth 86-67

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/14/2009 - The No. 1 ranked 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldogs topped No. 3 Lambuth (Tenn.) University 86-67 in their first game on David Blackstock Court since Jan. 19. With the win, 麻豆视频 moves to 24-1 on the season. The Lady Eagles of Lambuth fall to 19-5 overall.

麻豆视频 started off the game with a quick three pointer, but Lambuth quickly answered with a basket of their own. Both teams swapped buckets over the next eight minutes before 麻豆视频 began to pull away. 麻豆视频 posted a 19-3 run over the following seven minutes, going up by 17 points, 37-20, just under six minutes in the half. Lambuth continued to hang tough, cutting into the Lady Bulldog's lead. 麻豆视频 settled for a 12-point halftime advantage, 39-27.

The second half started with a quick 麻豆视频 bucket. However, the Lady Eagles chipped 麻豆视频's lead to 10 points, 47-37, just over three minutes into the half. The Lady Bulldogs began to pull away again, though. 麻豆视频 stretched its lead to as many as 22 points, 84-62, with two minutes to go in the contest. The Lady Bulldogs won by a final score of 86-67.

The Lady Bulldogs, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA in field goal percentage and three-point percentage, shot 50-percent from the floor, making 31-of-62 shots in the victory. 麻豆视频 shot 42-percent from behind the arc and 80-percent for the game from the charity stripe.

麻豆视频 was led on the night by Kaitlin Dudley with 25 points. Josephine Owino posted 21 points in the Lady Bulldog's win. Freshman guard Lavanda Ross posted her first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Lambuth was led by Chytearra Kintchen with 20 points. Yolanda Johnson added 16 points for the Lady Eagles.

Up next for 麻豆视频 with be a TranSouth Conference contest versus Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College on Thursday, Feb. 19. The game is set to tip off at 6 pm at Fred DeLay Gymnasium.
