No. 5 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ rolls at No. 15 Cumberland, 92-67

LEBANON, Tenn. - 2/12/2009 - The No. 5 ranked Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs posted an important road win at No. 15 Cumberland (Tenn.) University. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (20-4) moves into sole possession of first place in the TranSouth Conference with a 10-1 league record. Cumberland dropped to 20-4 overall and 10-3 in the TranSouth.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored first in the game and held the lead for all 40 minutes. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ jumped out to a 41-34 halftime lead despite being out-shot by Cumberland in the first half. Cumberland posted 55-percent shooting from the field in the first 20 minutes, including 50-percent (3-6) from behind the arc. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ managed just 47-percent shooting, and just 13-percent (1-8) from three point range.

In the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's field goal percentage heated up to 54-percent for the second half. However, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ still struggled from behind the arc, making on 3-19 (16%) three pointers for the game. Cumberland dropped to 39-percent shooting from the field, and was 0-of-2 from three point range in the second half.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ outscored Cumberland 51-33 in the final 20 minutes, while posting their biggest lead of the game at 29 points with 9:29 left to play.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by the TranSouth Player of the Week, Greg Truvillion, with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Neaville added 17 points, while Keith Tolliver had 13 points. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ out-rebounded Cumberland 44-27 in the contest.

Cumberland was led Rontreal Braxton with 15 points, Kenneth Simms with 14 points, and Brandon Powell with 13 points.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home game with Lambuth (Tenn.) University on Saturday, February 14 at 4:00 pm.
