JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/12/2009 - The No. 5 ranked Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs roll past Life (Ga.) University 122-80. With the win, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ moves to 13-3 on the season. Life falls to 9-8 overall.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ came out with the hot shooting touch and never looked back. After trading three pointers, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ went on a 15-0 run to take an 18-3 lead just over five minutes into the game. Life cut the lead back to nine points, 25-16, with 10 minutes left in the half, but the Bulldogs regained control for good. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ lead by as many as 29 points twice in the first half, including their 63-34 halftime advantage.
In the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ maintained control, stretching their lead to as many as 42 points twice in the second half, including the final score of 122-80.
Ten Bulldogs found the scoring column, with five of them recording double figures. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by senior Matt Neaville with 23 points on 7-of-11 (.636) shooting from behind the arc. Keith Tolliver added 22 points on 5-of-6 (.833) shooting from three-point range. Brian Lake and Tacuma Alexander posted 19 and 18 points, respectively. Freshman Allante' McLemore recorded his career-high 10 points and four assists on the night.
Life was led by Darius Bates and Tay Barber who posted 14 each. Marcus Spivey added 13 points for the Running Eagles and JaQuan Bray posted 11 points.
Next up, the Bulldogs will be returning to conference play with a trip to Martin Methodist College on Thursday, Jan. 15. The Bulldogs tip off at 8 pm, with the women's game to precede the at 6 pm.
