LEXINGTON, Ky. - 1/5/2009 - , a senior member of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University volleyball team, has been named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NAIA All-American honorable mention.
Coyle, a 5-foot-9 hitter, has just completed her four-year career with the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldogs. Coyle has been a four-time TranSouth All-Conference player and a three-time NAIA All-Region performer. She helped lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to the 2008 TranSouth Conference Tournament Title, which earned the team an automatic bid to the 2008 NAIA Volleyball National Championships. It was the first national tournament appearance for Coyle, and second in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ program history.
Coyle, a native of Jackson and former Trinity Christian Academy standout, led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 392 kills (3.1 per game) as a senior. She ranked No. 18 in the NAIA with a 0.357 hitting percentage. Coyle’s hitting percentage put her second in the TranSouth, while she ranked fifth with her 3.1 kills per game.
On the season, Coyle posted 392 kills in 126 games played. She recorded 11 aces, 156 digs, and 47 blocks.
