Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's men roll to second conference win, 90-43

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/6/2008 - The No. 6 ranked Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldogs posted a 90-43 win over Lyon (Ark.) College to move to 2-0 in the TranSouth Conference. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ outscored Lyon 57-20 in the second half on their way to the victory.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dominated the second half as they stretched their 10-point (33-23) halftime lead to 27 points (54-27) over the first five minutes of play. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ continued to add to their lead, going up by as many as 50 points (88-38), before settling for the 90-43 final.

Lyon scored the game's first points to go up 2-0, and stretched their lead to three points, 9-6, at the 13:50 mark of the first half. However, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ snapped out of their slow start as they posted a 23-4 run over the next nine minutes to take a 29-13 lead. Lyon closed the halftime gap to just 10 points, 33-23.

All 12 players for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored in the game, including five players in double figures. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Greg Truvillion with 17 points. Matt Neaville posted 16 points, Roland Banhoro posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Alan North scored 11 points, and Brian Lake added 10 points. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ shot 53-percent from the field, including 63-percent in the second half. The Bulldogs made 10-of-26 three pointers (.385), and 12-of-18 free throws (.667).

Lyon was led by James Jackson with 11 points. The Scots shot 26-percent from the field, 15-percent (3-20) from behind the arc, and 67-percent (14-21) from the free throw line.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will a road game at No. 12 Georgetown (Ky.) College on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 6:00 pm central time.
