Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women move to 13-0 on with win over Lyon

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/6/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs remained perfect on the season with a 92-42 win over Lyon (Ark.) College. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, is now 13-0 on the season and 2-0 in the TranSouth Conference. The pushed their regular season winning streak to 43 games.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ started the game with two three pointers from Merideth Jacobs and one from Kayla Hudson to open up with a 9-2 lead. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ never looked back as they quickly pushed their lead to 31 points with two minutes left in the half. The Lady Bulldogs closed the half with a 31-point lead, 49-18.

In the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ stretched their lead to as many as 53 points, 90-37, before taking the win by 50 points, 92-42.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ boasted six players in double figures, led by Kaitlin Dudley with 20 points. Zeinab Chan scored 16 points, Jacobs scored 13 points, Josephine Owino added 12 points, Hudson scored 11 points and Lavanda Ross added 10 points. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ made nine three pointers on the day, getting three each from Dudley, Jacobs, and Hudson. The Lady Bulldogs shot 57-percent from the field, 35-percent (9-26) from three point range, and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

Lyon was led by Lauren Ramsey with 13 points. The Pipers shot 33-percent from the field, 8-percent (1-13) from behind the arc, and 69-percent (9-13) from the charity stripe.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a road game at No. 11 Lee (Tenn.) University on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 6:00 pm central time. The game was originally schedule to be at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, but has been moved to Cleveland, Tenn.
