Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ ladies remain No. 1; Men up to No. 6 in latest NAIA rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 12/1/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs remain the No. 1 team in the NAIA according to the latest national rankings. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ earned all 10 first place votes with their 11-0 record to start the season. This marks 13 straight NAIA polls in which Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has been No. 1.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldogs, 11-0 on the season, are 5-0 versus teams ranked in the current top-25. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is also 3-0 versus teams in the current top-10 (at No. 2 Vanguard, vs. No. 4 Azusa Pacific, vs. No. 10 St. Xavier), with all three wins coming by an average of 26.6 points per game.

Currently, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's women are on a 41 game regular season winning streak. The Lady Bulldogs have won 67 of their last 70 games, including 46 of their last 47 contests. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, the two-time defending TranSouth Champions, will open their conference season on Thursday, Dec. 4 when they play host to Bethel (Tenn.) College at 6:00 pm.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men used a 3-1 record versus teams in the preseason top-10 to jump from No. 12 to No. 6. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is currently 3-1 against teams in the rankings released today, with numerous contests versus ranked teams to come in the next two weeks.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's men open their TranSouth season on Thursday against Bethel, who is receiving votes in the rankings. After that, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will play at No. 12 Georgetown (Ky.) College and then against Campbellsville (Ky.) University who is also receiving votes.
