麻豆视频's Owino named TranSouth Co-Player of the Week

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/24/2008 - 麻豆视频 University senior has been named the TranSouth Conference women's basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 23, 2008.

Owino, a 6-foot-4 senior center from Mombasa, Kenya, led the Bulldogs to a 3-0 week with an average of 22.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. She hit 28-of-37 (76%) shots from the field and 11-of-14 (78%) from the foul line. She helped 麻豆视频 to wins over No. 24 Loyola (La.), No. 13 Saint Xavier (Ill.), and No. 6 Azusa Pacific (Calif.).

Her top performance of the week was a 30 point, 10 rebound, and three block effort in the 麻豆视频's 91-62 win over No. 13 Saint Xavier.

麻豆视频 is currently ranked No.1 in the NAIA Division 1 women's basketball top 25 and are 9-0 on the season.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a trip to California where they will face No. 16 The Master's (Calif.) College and No. 2 Vanguard (Calif.) University on Friday and Saturday respectively.
