JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/15/2008 - The No. 1 Lady Bulldogs of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Tenn.) University remain perfect on the year, knocking off Lindenwood (Mo.) University 99-51 in their second and final game of the Lady Bulldog Classic. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is now 6-0 on the year. With the loss, Lindenwood falls to 3-2 for the season.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ fell behind at the start of the contest, before taking a lead they would not relinquish with just under 17 minutes to go in the first half. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ drove their lead up to as many as 25 points with just under 4 minutes to go in the half. The Lady Bulldogs took a 24 point lead into halftime.
The Lady Bulldogs picked up right where they left off in the first half, taking their advantage up to 30 points just over a minute into the second half. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ continued to put up points, driving their lead to 50, 99-49, with under a minute to play in the game, winning by a final score of 99-51.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Zeinab Chan with 20 points. Merideth Jacobs and Lavanda Ross each recorded 13 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Posting 11 points each in the contest were Josephine Owino and Kaitlin Dudley. Ashley Lillard added 10 points for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
Lindenwood's Sarah Schnieders led the Lady Lions with 17 points. Cassie Williams and Gabriella Green added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Up next for the Lady Bulldogs will be the Jackson Rotary Classic November 20-22 at Fred DeLay Gymnasium on the campus of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University. The Lady Bulldogs will face Loyola (La.) University-New Orleans in the first match up in the Rotary Classic. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will tip off at 5 pm.
