Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ volleyball wins twice on day one, advance to winner's bracket final

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/10/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs are sitting right where they planned to be after day one of the at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Fred DeLay Gymnasium. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, the #2 seed, won their first match 3-0 over #7 seeded Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College. Then after Cumberland (Tenn.) University upset #3 Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ topped Cumberland 3-1.

With the win, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ advances to play the #4 seed, Lyon (Ark.) College in the winner's bracket final on Tuesday morning at 11:30 am. The unexpected match up with Lyon comes after Lyon upset the top seeded Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University Lady Lions.

In the win over Martin Methodist, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by former Trinity Christian Academy standout, Amanda Hutchison Coyle, with 16 kills. Heather Lieberman added eight kills. Katie Adams recorded 31 assists and Anna Sims added six blocks.

Emilie Ogas led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in their second win with 18 kills. Coyle and Lieberman added 11 kills, with Anna Sims posting 10 kills. Adams had 52 assists, while Sims led with three blocks.
