麻豆视频 women's soccer advance in TranSouth Tourney with 2-0 win

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/8/2008 - The 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldogs advance to the semifinals of the TranSouth Conference Tournament with a 2-0 victory over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University. The win for 麻豆视频 (13-5) is their third straight. It also is their third straight shutout, and seventh shutout on the season.

The score was 0-0 until 麻豆视频's leading scorer, Caitlin Zimmerman broke through thanks to a Leah Bender assist in the 65th minute. 麻豆视频 added a late goal by Candice Blackard in the 89th minute to go up 2-0. For Zimmerman, this was her 17th goal of the year. Blackard is second on the team in goals with seven.

麻豆视频 goalie Laura Pla record no saves as Freed-Hardeman posted no shots in the match. 麻豆视频 had 22 shots in the match, including 13 on goal. Tiffany Harris, the Lady Lion keeper, recorded 11 saves in her very active night.

麻豆视频, the No. 4 seed, will now travel to top seeded Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College on Tuesday, November 11 for a semifinal match.
