Jackson, Tenn. - 10/6/2001 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ falls to Lambuth University in the third annual Jackson Cup by the score of 0-1. Lambuth improves their record to 4-5-1 and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ drops to 4-6 on the season. For the third time in as many years, the visiting team has come away victorious. Lambuth leads the all-time series 3-1.
Neither team could provide much offense in the first half as both teams took only two shots on goal each. Ten minutes into the second half, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ managed to get off a series of shots on goal, however, all were near misses as they hit the goal post on two occasions. With 26 minutes left in the game, Lambuth's Marco Ferraina rebounded a Jeff Lean save and struke with the game's only score. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ outshot Lambuth 8-6 and led in corner kicks 12-4.
Lambuth's goalie, David Logue, played a tremendous game as he tallied eight saves to get the shut-out. Jeff Lean of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ would save five shots in the game, one of which was a penalty kick with 14 minutes remaining.
