Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women's cross country takes fourth in Southeastern Classic

ROME, Ga. - 10/25/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University cross country teams participated in the 2008 Southeastern Cross Country Classic held at Berry (Ga.) College. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ ladies took fourth place out of 19 teams. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ men did not post a team score as only four runners participated with two others still nursing injuries.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's women finished fourth behind Montreat (N.C.) College, the host Berry, and Lee (Tenn.) University respectively. Lydia Bond led the Lady Bulldogs at No. 16. Hannah Clardy was 21, Danielle Partain was 22, Kayla Hause was 29, Erika Schnatterly was 38, Charley Moss was 47, Carissa Wilson was 59, Hannah Staggs was 105, and Jessi Shubert was 111. A total of 150 runners competed.

On the men's side, the Saltillo, Miss., brother combination of Seth Covington and Zach Covington placed No. 19 and 24 respectively to lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Joel Wellum was 61 and Josh Abbotoy was 144. A total of 195 runners competed.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ cross country will be the TranSouth Conference / NAIA National Tournament Qualification Meet on Saturday, November 8 at Percy Warner Park in Nashville.
