Jackson, Tenn. - 9/16/2002 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University’s, Adrian Yeung was named the TranSouth Conference and NAIA Region XI Player of the Week. Yeung, a senior co-captain for the Bulldogs either scored or assisted on each goal for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ during last week’s play. Also, for the Bulldogs, being ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Region XI polls marks their highest in the five year history of the soccer program. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ went 1-1-1 on the week and moved their overall record to 4-3-1 on the season.
Yeung, a 6-foot-0 midfielder, for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ tallied three goals and one assist on the week. He scored the lone goal for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in a 1-1 tie with NCAA Div. II opponent, Harding University. Yeung also, scored the only goal for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in a 2-1 loss to Emmanuel College. Then, in a 2-0 victory over Asbury College, Yeung scored one goal and assisted on the other. Yeung, from British Columbia, Canada, has tallied four goals and six assists on the season.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will play next for the coveted Jackson Cup in a cross-town battle with Lambuth University. This will mark the fourth year for the Jackson Cup with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ looking to recapture the title. In each of the last three cup’s, the visiting team has won each contest, and each by the score of 1-0. Lambuth holds 3-1 all-time mark over the Bulldogs. This game will be played at Lambuth University on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
