Â鶹ÊÓƵ volleyball's 10-match win streak comes to an end

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/21/2008 - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University Lady Bulldog volleyball team saw their longest winning streak since 2006 come to an end on Tuesday night in a 3-1 (19-25, 25-16, 26-24, 25-19) loss at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University. The 10-match winning streak for Â鶹ÊÓƵ started back on September 26.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ (18-5, 8-4) took the first game as the Lady Bulldogs seemed to be well on their way to an eleventh straight win. However, the host had other ideas as Trevecca Nazarene took the second game with a quick 25-16 win. Game three was much closer, but the Trojans prevailed 26-24. Trevecca Nazarene used the momentum of that win to close out the match with a 25-19 win in game four.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ remains in second place in the TranSouth at 8-3, just a half match lead on Trevecca Nazarene (15-8) at 8-4. Â鶹ÊÓƵ has three conference matches remaining including at Mid-Continent (Ky.), at Martin Methodist (Tenn.) and at home versus league leader Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). Trevecca Nazarene plays just two matches including at Cumberland (Tenn.) and home versus Freed-Hardeman.

Up next for Â鶹ÊÓƵ will be a road tournament this weekend in Savannah, Ga. on the campus of Savannah College of Art and Design.
