JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/15/2008 - On the night when Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University's volleyball team wore pink jerseys to help bring awareness to breast cancer, the Lady Bulldogs rolled to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-11) victory over Rhodes (Tenn.) College. With the win, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (18-4) extended their season-long winning streak to 10 matches. This marks the longest streak for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ since an 11-match win streak back in 2006.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ opened play in the first game, recording 17 kills while hitting .302 for the game. The momentum remained on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's side of the court for the rest of the night.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Ashley Young with nine kills and a .727 hitting percentage. She also added a block on the night. Amanda Coyle and Emilie Ogas each recorded eight kills. Katie Adams posted 34 assists while CJ Neathamer led with 19 digs. Coyle led with two blocks.
For Rhodes, Stephanie Parazak led with eight kills and Alex Nobel added 17 assists.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a road conference game on Tuesday, October 21 at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University at 7:00 pm.
