JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/10/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University volleyball team will join numerous other programs across the country as they promote Breast Cancer Awareness on Tuesday night, October 14, 2008. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will lay aside their regular red, white and black jerseys in favor of pink jerseys when the Lady Bulldogs play host to Rhodes (Tenn.) College out of Memphis at 7:00 pm in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Fred DeLay Gymnasium.
During the event Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, along with the visiting team from Rhodes, will play in pink jerseys to help bring awareness to breast cancer. Donations will be accepted that will support the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Also, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s chapter of the ZTA sorority will be present to pass out ribbons, stickers, and promote and sell tickets for the ZTA Think Pink Walk-A-Thon.
October serves as Breast Cancer Awareness Month to which hundreds of volleyball programs across the country join in to help with this cause.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is currently riding a nine-match winning streak and is 17-4 on the season. This match versus Rhodes will be a non-conference match.
