Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women's soccer wins fifth straight match, Blackard tallies three goals

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/8/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldog soccer team posted their fifth straight win with a 7-0 victory over Crichton (Tenn.) College. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 5-0 and the break as they moved their record to 10-3 on the season.

Christina Reardon scored first with a goal in the eighth minute. Candice Blackard Blackard followed with three straight goals to record her second three-goal hat trick of her Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ career. Her last hat trick was recorded in the first match of her freshman year with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Abigail Williams posted two goals in the match, while Eboni Murphy added the seventh goal for the Lady Bulldogs. Caitlin Zimmerman dished out three assists, with Reardon, Cheslie Tharpe, and Korie Elrod each adding one assist.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ goalie Laura Pla recorded no saves in the match as Crichton was not allowed a single shot by the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ defense.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a road conference match on Saturday, October 11 at Bethel College in McKenzie. The match will begin at 12:00 noon with the men's match to follow at 2:00 pm.
