JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/30/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldog soccer team had their five-match winning streak snapped over Lambuth (Tenn.) University when Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and Lambuth played to a 0-0 2OT tie. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ leads the overall series with Lambuth 6-3-1. This marked the third match that went to overtime in the series, the others were a 3-2 2OT win by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in 2004 and a 2-1 OT win by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in 2000.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ goes to 5-3-2 overall while Lambuth moves to 5-2-1 on the season.
Lambuth out shot Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 22-4 in the game, including 11-2 in the shots-on-goal category. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ goalie James Landham, the reigning TranSouth Conference Defensive Player of the Week, recorded nine saves, including four in the double-overtime period. Lambuth goalie, Brett Borm was perfect on the night as well with two saves in the match.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a conference match on Saturday, October 4 when Cumberland (Tenn.) University comes to Jackson for a 4:00 pm match.
