JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/30/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldog volleyball team posted their fifth straight win on Tuesday night. The Lady Bulldogs pulled off a 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-13) conference win over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University. With the win, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ improved to 13-4 overall and 5-2 in the TranSouth. Trevecca Nazarene dropped to 10-6 on the season and 3-4 in league play.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ jumped out early in game one, leading 8-1 after the first nine points. The Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene slowed started to rally to pull to within two points at 18-16. However Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ held strong to take the win.
In game two, it was the Trojans who started hot, but could not hold the lead as Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ rallied to take their first lead of game two, 19-18. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ held off for the 25-23 win.
Game three saw the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldog use the momentum from late in game two as they rolled to a 25-13 match clinching win in game three.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was led by Emilie Ogas with 11 kills. Followed by Amanda Coyle with nine, Anna Sims with eight, and Heather Lieberman with seven kills. Katie Adams, the reigning TranSouth Player of the Week, recorded 37 assists. Lindsey Wallach added two aces, while CJ Neathamer led with 22 digs. Five Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ players each tallied one block each.
Trevecca Nazarene was led by Ashton O'Halloran with nine kills. Kelly Huff dished out 21 assists, while Haley Wiggins recorded 12 digs. O'Halloran and Kaley Ward each record two blocks for the Trojans.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a road match on Thursday, October 2 in McKenzie, Tenn. when Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ plays Bethel College at 7:00 pm.
