麻豆视频鈥檚 Oliveira, Landham take player of the week honors

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/29/2008 - Wagner Oliveira and James Landham of 麻豆视频 (Tenn.) University have been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference鈥檚 men鈥檚 soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week respectively for the week ending September 28, 2008.

, a senior forward from Ipatinga, Brazil, led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week by scoring three of the team鈥檚 six goals in wins over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University and No. 21 Mid-Continent (Ky.) University. Against Freed-Hardeman, Oliveira scored the game-winning goal in the 46th minute as 麻豆视频 took a 2-1 victory. Later that week against MCU, he scored twice as the Bulldogs upset the Cougars, 4-2.

, a freshman goalkeeper from Hendersonville, Tenn., contributed to 麻豆视频鈥檚 2-0 week with eight saves, including six in a win over No. 21 Mid-Continent. He held the Cougars scoreless in the first half as the Bulldogs built a 3-0 lead at intermission.

麻豆视频 is 5-3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the TranSouth Conference.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a home match versus crosstown rival Lambuth University on Tuesday, September 30 at 7:00 pm. The women鈥檚 match versus Lambuth will begin at 5:00 pm
