Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ women's soccer takes Freed-Hardeman 1-0

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/23/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women's soccer team used a late first half goal to take a 1-0 victory over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University. The one goal for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was the lone shot out of a total of 32 shots to find the back of the net. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ out shot Freed-Hardeman 32-1 in the match.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's goal came just one minute before halftime on a shot from Julie Ocampos-Barry, assisted by Jamie Haynes. That proved to be all of the scoring in the contest.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ goalie Laura Pla, the TranSouth Defensive Player of the Week for the past two weeks, had an uneventful night as she face no shots on goal from Freed-Hardeman.

Lady Lion goalie, Tiffany Harris, recorded 14 saves as she worked to keep her team in the match.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be another home match on Saturday, September 27 at 6:00 pm versus Belhaven (Miss.) College.
