JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/11/2008 - In just their fourth season of varsity soccer, the 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldogs continue to reach milestones for the women鈥檚 program. The latest came with the release of the , in which 麻豆视频 is listed in the receiving votes section. This marks the first national vote 麻豆视频 women鈥檚 soccer has received in the history of the program.
鈥淲e are flattered to be listed in the receiving votes section鈥, states 麻豆视频 head coach, Brandon Boylan. 鈥淗owever, we have to keep everything in perspective. We still have a lot of work to do before we get to the level of national recognition that conference foes Martin Methodist and Bethel have reached.鈥
Each season, 麻豆视频 has increased its win total. Last season鈥檚 program-high 13 wins and a TranSouth record of 6-2 marked the best finish thus far. 麻豆视频 fished in third place behind nationally ranked Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College and Bethel (Tenn.)College. Martin Methodist also won their second national title in three years last season.
To this point in 2008, 麻豆视频 is 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the TranSouth. Coach Boylan and his Lady Bulldogs look to continue improving in hopes of capturing their first conference title. With the elimination of the region tournaments, conference finish and national rankings become even more important.
Boylan comments on having to play defending national champion Martin Methodist in his own conference. 鈥淚鈥檓 OK with it. In order to be the best you have to beat the best. We have a great measuring stick every year by playing teams like Martin Methodist and Bethel who have had a lot of success. We know we can compete at this level and we see each year where we need to be as a team. A goal for us is to reach the national tournament; however, we also want to produce once we get to that level.鈥
Other TranSouth teams in the latest NAIA rankings include defending national champion, Martin Methodist at No. 1, with Bethel also receiving votes.
