JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/6/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs defeated Asbury (Ky.) College 2-0 on Saturday. The win improved the Lady Bulldogs to 3-1 on the season and completed a two-win sweep for the weekend in Kentucky. On Friday, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ knocked off Georgetown (Ky.) College 4-1.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Jill Landers scored first, assisted by Caitlin Zimmerman. The final goal of the day for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was posted by Sam Gase, with the assist going to Kaitlin Dirksen.
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ reserve team also won two games this weekend in Kentucky, with Saturday's 3-0 victory over Asbury. Terilyn Wassell scored first, assisted by Rachel Fillinger. Morgan Walley added the second goal assisted by Leah Bender. The third and final goal for the reserve team was score by Katie Johnson, assisted by Wassell. The reserve team defeated Georgetown 2-1 on Friday.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a TranSouth Conference double-header at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University. The women will play at 5:00 pm with the men to follow at 8:00 pm.
