Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ volleyball drops match to Bryan College

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/2/2008 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldogs dropped their first match of the season with a 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 19-25, 28-26, 15-10) defeat at the hands of Bryan (Tenn.) College. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led 2-1, before losing the final two games of the match.

After leading 2-1, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ rallied from an early deficit to tie the game 23-23. The game was knotted again at 26-26, before Bryan won the match and took the momentum into game five. With Bryan leading 14-6 in the final game, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ sparked a comeback attempt, scoring four straight points. However, the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ rally was stopped short, giving Bryan the victory.

Amanda Coyle led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 19 kills, while Anna Sims added 12 kills. Katie Adams recorded 50 assists, and CJ Neathamer added 45 digs.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ dropped to 1-1 on the year, while Bryan improved to 3-2 this season.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be the College of the Ozarks Tournament in Point Lookout, Missouri on Friday and Saturday, September 5-6.
