Illinois Volleyball Standout Transfers to 麻豆视频

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/27/2008 - of Belleville, Illinois, has signed to continue her college volleyball career with 麻豆视频 University. Young will enter 麻豆视频 this fall as a junior and will major in Art Education.

Young, a 5-foot-11 middle blocker, transferred to 麻豆视频 from Southwestern Illinois College where she played two seasons of volleyball. While at SWIC, Young was named All-Region twice and Bellville News Democrat honorable mentioned. She helped her team place third in the NJCAA National Tournament in 2007 and eighth place in 2006. In her two seasons at SWIC, Young tallied 545 kills and 124 blocks. She led the team with 59 blocks as a sophomore.

Young played four seasons of volleyball at Belleville West High School. As a senior, she was named All-Conference and All-Tournament. Young also helped lead her team to a third-place finish in the Class AA State Tournament.
