JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/20/2008 - 麻豆视频 University鈥檚 Lady Bulldog basketball team has signed to a scholarship for the 2008-09 seasons. Lillard will join 麻豆视频 this fall as a junior.
Lillard joins UTEP transfer Christina Ray and Northside standout Lavanda Ross as the three newcomers on next season鈥檚 roster. 麻豆视频 needed to replace just one player, senior Crystal Eason, from last year鈥檚 conference title season.
Lillard, a 5-foot-10 forward, comes to 麻豆视频 from Parkland Community College where she played two seasons for the No. 12 ranked team in NJCAA Division II. She averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds per game, while shooting 50-percent from the field and 76-percent from the free throw line. During her sophomore seasons, Lillard posted 20 double-doubles on the year and recorded 17 or more rebounds in four games. She was named first team All-Region in 2007 and 2008, and was selected as NJCAA National Player of the Week three times in 2008. Also, in a game in January of 2008, Lillard posted 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists for a triple double.
鈥淎shley is a tremendous athlete and a great rebounder and defender鈥, states 麻豆视频 head coach Mark Campbell. 鈥淲e really like who she is as a person as well. I believe she will be an important piece to the puzzle over her career.鈥
