MILLINGTON, Tenn. - 4/28/2008 - The 2008 TranSouth Conference post season awards were announced on Monday night in a ceremony during opening round action at the . Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ boasted four players with honors this season. Andrew Hansen was named first-team All-Conference as second base. Shaun Cozart was named first team All-Conference as a utility player. Carl Harken was named second team All-Conference as a pitcher, while Judson Powers was named to the Gold Glove Team as an outfielder for the second straight season.
, a 6-foot sophomore from Lakeview, Minn., led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with a .409 batting average and was second in the conference. He posted 56 hits, 11 doubles, four triples, and 25 RBI. Hansen also was 14-of-14 in stolen bases.
, a 5-foot-11senior first baseman/third baseman from Nashville, was second on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s team with a .362 batting average. He led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 40 RBI. Cozart also added 50 hits, 10 doubles, one triple, and three homeruns. This is his second All-Conference honor in his two seasons at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. He started the season at first base, but then finished the season at third base.
, a 6-foot-5 junior pitcher from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, posted a 5-3 record with a 4.00 ERA. He started in all 10 of his appearances, recorded three complete games and one shutout. He pitched in 54.0 innings, allowing 24 earned runs while striking out 31 hitters.
, a 6-foot-2 senior outfielder from Humboldt, earned his second TranSouth Gold Glove honor. He plays in the large center field at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Fesmire Field and has posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in each of the past two seasons. This season, he recorded two assists in 88 outfield chances with no errors.
