Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Softball Signs Gibson County’s Davis

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/25/2008 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University softball coach Heather Hall continues to add players to the roster for next season. The latest signee is of Kenton, Tennessee. Davis will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a freshman and will major in Early Childhood Development with plans to become a teacher and coach.

Davis, a 5-foot-6 utility player, played four years of prep softball at Gibson County High School. She is hitting .385 for her career with 96 career RBI. As a freshman, she also pitched for the Lady Pioneers where she won five games, including a no-hitter. Davis has received numerous honors for her softball career, including Jackson Sun All-West Tennessee, All-District 13AA, Team MVP, and Most RBI's as a junior. Her sophomore year saw Davis claim All-District Tournament 13AA and Most RBI's. As a freshman, she earned the Rookie of the Year Award.

Davis is a distinguished scholar at Gibson County and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is the daughter of Ricky Joe and Tandy Davis.
