Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Neaville, Lake Named NAIA All-Americans

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/1/2008 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University’s Matt Neaville and Brian Lake earned NAIA All-American honors for the 2007-08 season. Neaville and Lake were named to the honorable mention All-American team at the conclusion of the season. In addition, Neaville was named a second team All-American by Basketball Times Magazine.

Neaville, junior guard from Urbana, Illinois, led the NAIA in scoring this season, averaging 24.3 points per game. He was also No.1 in the nation in three point shooting, averaging 5 made three pointers per game. Neaville set numerous records in his first season as a Bulldog, including three pointers made in a game with 11. He also set a new record for three pointers in a season with 153, passing the former record held by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Graduate Assistant Coach Chima Abakwue.

Lake, junior forward from Bolivar, Tennessee, averaged a double-double on the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds per game this season. He led the TranSouth Conference with 14 double-doubles on the season and was also ranked No.1 in the TranSouth, averaging 10 rebounds per game.

As a team, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was also ranked among the top teams in the NAIA in several categories. The Bulldogs led the nation in three pointers made per game with 11. They were ranked No.2 both in offensive rebounds per game with 16 and in total rebounds per game with 44. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ was third in the nation in defensive rebounds per game with 28. The Bulldogs finished the 2007-08 season with a record of 18-13, while going 12-8 in TranSouth Conference play.
