麻豆视频 Softball Wins Sixth Straight

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/12/2008 - The 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldogs swept a double-header with Crichton College (Tenn.) on Wednesday afternoon, increasing their winning streak to six games. The two wins put the Lady Bulldogs at 8-5 on the season and 5-3 in TranSouth Conference play. Crichton is now 2-14 overall and 0-4 in league play.

麻豆视频 jumped out to a two-run lead in the second inning with hits from Ashley Walter, Candice Thompson, and Michelle Albonetti. The Lady Bulldogs increased their lead to 5-0, before Crichton added their lone run in the seventh. 麻豆视频's Amy Chatham allowed just one run in the top of the seventh to move her record to 5-2 on the year. 麻豆视频鈥檚 offense was led by Albonetti who went 4-for-4, followed by Kristen Kirk and Thompson who each went 2-for-3 in the game.

In the second game, Bethany Burnett (2-3) tossed a six-inning complete game shutout, allowing just three hits in the game. 麻豆视频鈥檚 offensive attack started early with singles from Albonetti, Brittany Burkett, and Chatham. The Lady Bulldogs then added two runs then scored on a double by Ashley Blakenship in the first inning. 麻豆视频 added two more runs in the third, one in the fourth, and three in the sixth to run-rule Crichton 8-0. The Lady Bulldog鈥檚 offense was led by Chatham who went 3-for-4, followed by Albonetti and Burkett both going 2-for-4.

Up next, the Lady Bulldogs will be hosting the 麻豆视频 University Classic at Fesmire Field, Friday and Saturday, March 14-15. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to play Campbellsville University (Ky.) at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. Then at 6:00 pm, 麻豆视频 battles Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.). On Saturday the Lady Bulldogs will play Lindsey Wilson College at 1:00 pm and then again at 3:00 pm.
