Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Ladies No. 1 for Eighth Straight Poll, Men Receiving Votes

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/14/2008 - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Lady Bulldogs have maintained their NAIA No. 1 ranking in the most recent national polls for the eighth straight week. The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Bulldogs are also receiving votes this week in the national poll.

The No. 1 ranked Lady Bulldogs set a new record for the best start to a season, 23-0, with a win over Cumberland University (Tenn.) Monday night, 92-75. With the win, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also tied the mark for the longest win-streak in a season in the program's history. The Lady Bulldogs have now won 43 of their last 45 games, dating back to January 11 of last season. The Lady Bulldogs also remain No. 1 in the TranSouth Conference as they enter the last six games of the conference play.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Men are receiving votes in this week's poll as they prepare for the last seven games of the conference season. The Bulldogs remain in the top half of the TranSouth Conference at No. 5, with a chance to move up as they face the conference leaders over their next several games. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Matt Neaville continues to lead the country in three-pointers made per game with 4.8. Neaville is also ranked No. 2 in the nation in points per game with 24.8, only .3 point behind the leader, Mountain State University's James Spencer.

Next up for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a double-header on the road versus cross-town and TranSouth Conference rival, Lambuth University, on Thursday, February 14. The Lady Bulldogs play at 6 pm, with the Men's game to follow at 8 pm. The Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs will also play on the road Saturday, February 16, at Martin Methodist College. The Women's game will begin at 2 pm, followed by the Men's game at 4 pm.
