JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/5/2008 - of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University has been named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 3, 2008. For Neaville, this is his fourth TranSouth Player of the Week honor of the season, and third straight week for a Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Bulldog.
Neaville, a 6-foot-0 junior from Urbana, Illinois, averaged 30 points per game in three Bulldog victories. In Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 93-80 win over #RV Crichton College he scored 32 points and had five assists. He scored 31 points in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 90-68 win over Mid-Continent and added 29 points in the Bulldog’s 86-79 win over Bethel. Neaville leads the NAIA in scoring and his missed free throw versus Bethel broke a string of 18 consecutive made free throws, just three shy of a Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ record.
For the week he hit 30-of-66 (45%) from the field, 17-of-44 (39%) from three-point range, and 15-of-16 (94%) from the foul line.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is now 13-9 overall and 7-5 in the TranSouth.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home game versus Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) on Thursday, February 7. The men will play at 8:00 pm, preceded by the women's game at 6:00 pm.
